fellowship church
I had the opportunity to go to Fellowship Church at their main campus in Grapevine
this past Sunday where Ed Young is the pastor.
It was cool to go to a church I've heard so much about and be a part of their services.
Everything they do is top of the line. Their sound, video, lighting, print materials, and their children's area is very, very nice. Ed Young is a good communicator... simple, straight-forward, and easy to listen to.
Fellowship is definately an influential church with a lot of excellence and creativity. What they do, they do very well.Labels: churches, personal
favorite christmas gift
So, I know it is about 3 weeks after Christmas, but my blogging time has been very sporadic.
Christmas was good, but Lacey came through with my favorite gift. Actually, it was really the only thing I even wanted for Christmas this year.
She got me a new bag from STM. I was so excited when I opened up the box. Labels: personal
faith litmus test
The litmus test for my faith in Christ is not the celebrations of all that God has done but the most difficult situations of life.

loving god is easy
Over the past few months, I've learned this truth: loving God is easy, but loving people is difficult.
God never gossips about me, criticizes me, spreads false reports about me. He's always faithful, trustworthy, and loving.
Loving and forgiving those who claim His name yet act otherwise is one of the most challenging commands Christ gave us.
My relationship with others is at the center of my relationship with God. Only when I act like Christ, love like Christ, and forgive like Christ do I truly know Him.

george o. wood
Yesterday I had the privilege to sit in a small luncheon with church planters to interact with the General Supt. of the Assemblies of God, Dr. George O. Wood.
The luncheon was arranged by Dave McNaughton who directs church planting in North Texas for the AG.
It was incredible to hear Dr. Wood's heart and passion, especially in a small, up close format.
He outlined the core values that he will be pushing for the AG and then took time for question and answer.
Some of the big questions were concerns and issues of the fellowship, church government, and the initial evidence of the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
He addressed each one with candor, honesty, and highly educated thoughts. Dr. Wood is well aware of the concerns of ministers, especially young ministers, and is working hard to correct and provide leadership and resources to continue moving forward as a fellowship to reach the world.
Dr. George Wood is going to do a remarkable job leading the AG into the future. Labels: assemblies of god, ministry
champion
I had a remarkable year of fantasy football. I came away with a few lucky wins midway through the season and finished the season 13-1.
Peyton Manning finally introduced himself to the 2007 fantasy season scoring me some major points in the last 3 games, and I had some big games from a few others.
I won my league and then was crowned the overall champion of the two leagues at my church. The Rollin' Razorbacks ran all over the competition.
